The tax returns all came in as fast or faster than expected _and_ there was a refurb machine with the exact specs I wanted in stock! So...thanks to the Apple refurb shop and the student discounts, I saved $600. For $2.5k I managed to get the machine that I wanted with AppleCare (which was going to cost me $3k), a case, a USB keyboard and Parallels desktop. Awesome. Oh yeah, and it's already in Fedex's hands. I'll be holding it buy the end of the day Monday. Sweet. UPDATE: I bought it!
